Personal Loan — common questions
Why is the rate so much higher than a tractor or home loan?
Because there is no security. If you stop paying, the lender has no asset to recover, so the price carries that risk. Any loan backed by land, gold or a vehicle will always be cheaper.
Will applying to several lenders hurt my credit score?
Yes, if you apply directly to each one — every application triggers a hard enquiry and a cluster of them reads badly. Applying through one channel that shops the file around avoids that.
